We are pleased to announce that Texas Health Resources and Cancer Support Community have collaborated to expand support services for patients and families who are facing cancer.
Plans currently include opening Cancer Support Community (CSC) facilities on the campuses of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and are being made possible in part through a generous financial gift by the Cambridge Mindful Living Foundation.
The groundbreaking of the CSC facility at Texas Health Dallas will be held on Sept. 6.
With more than 30 years’ experience in psychological oncology, CSC is a nonprofit organization providing a wide array of services, including information about cancer treatment, help in managing the illness and coping with emotions related to cancer. They also provide support for managing disruptions in work, school and family relationships, educational workshops and presentations, support and networking groups, social events, a children’s support program and bereavement support. All services are free of charge.
