ArtBark Dallas

October 5, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$40

Hello!

We would like to invite you to be a vendor at our second annual pet-friendly fundraiser, ArtBark Dallas.  Our inaugural event in 2012 was held at the POOCH Hotel where several volunteer photographers took pictures of pooches with Santa Claus and all proceeds were donated to Paws in the City, DFW Pug Rescue, and League of Animal Protectors.  Please take a moment and check out our link at ArtBark Dallas.  We hope you like what you see!

We are excited to announce that this year’s event will be held Sunday, October 5th from 1pm-4pm at North Dallas Veterinary Hospital, 3452 Forest Lane, Ste. 100, Dallas, TX 75234.  Please come and join us!  Our vendor fee is $40 and we kindly ask you bring your own table(s).  Restriction size is either two 8’ tables or one 16’ table.  Dr. Terry Ford, DVM, and North Dallas Veterinary Hospital have graciously offered the use of their beautiful building and surrounding grounds for this year’s ArtBark event.  Accessible restrooms located inside the building.  All vendor fees will directly benefit On Butterflies Wings… a down-to-earth organization that is all about HOPE.  On Butterflies Wings was founded in 2010 by Erin Prendergast, RN, Women’s Diagnostic and Breast Cancer Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas and proceeds from this organization directly benefit the breast cancer program.

This year, ArtBark will, again, have several photographers who will provide pet portraits for $10 inside the building.  Vendors will be outside on the surrounding grounds.  Our goal is to raise $1500 for On Butterflies Wings and a planned healing garden at the new cancer center currently under construction at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas.  We hope you can help us by giving back to the community AND have a fun, pet-friendly day!  Please contact us for more information.

Archana Ganaraj, M.D.

Archana Ganaraj, M.D.

Dr. Ganaraj grew up in Tylertown, Mississippi where she was the older daughter of the town’s only surgeon. Her interest in medicine started at a very early age and both she and her sister became physicians. According to Dr. Ganaraj:

“As breast cancer care has evolved, it has truly become a multidisciplinary field. One of the goals of the Breast Cancer Alliance at the Margot Perot Center is to facilitate the delivery of breast cancer care into a seamless continuum. The average breast cancer patient will have a radiologist, breast surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, and perhaps even a plastic surgeon involved in her care. Our goal is to coordinate all of these fields and physicians into one integrated plan tailored to meet the particular needs of each individual cancer patient. We want to make sure that the lines of communication are always open not only between the patient and her physicians, but also among the physicians themselves. We want to educate our patients so they can be active participants in the decision making that governs their care.”

Dr. Ganaraj attended Yale University where she received a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. She went on to the University of Mississippi to earn her M.D. degree. She then moved to Dallas and finished five years of general surgery training at Baylor University Medical Center. After completing her residency, Dr. Ganaraj pursued a surgical breast oncology fellowship at Memorial – Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. During her training, she was extensively involved in breast cancer research. Her special area of research interest was sentinel lymph node technology and its applications to various clinical situations. Dr. Ganaraj is board certified in general surgery. She is delighted to be back in Dallas as part of the Breast Cancer Program at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She is exclusively dedicated to treating breast cancer and other disorders of the breast.
