2015 Tea Thank You

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

The 2^nd Annual On Butterflies Wings Tea was held on Friday, October 23^rd at Winfrey Point, White Rock Lake.  Despite the heavy rains and flash flooding, the event was a HUGE success!  THANK YOU to Sheri Bastie and Mari Epperson for your amazing leadership and dedication as Co-Chairs of this year’s tea! You led the way to another memorable event that raised over $22,000 to benefit the healing garden at the new cancer center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas!   THANK YOU to KEYNOTE speaker, Karla Morton, Texas Poet Laureate and TWO-TIME cancer survivor!  Your radiance and poetry were the “icing on the cake” for this year’s tea!  THANK YOU, Jay McAuley, President of Texas Health Resources Foundation, for welcoming our guests and sharing the plans for the upcoming healing garden at the new cancer center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.  To date, over $55,000 has been raised by On Butterflies Wings for this important addition to the cancer center.  THANK YOU to our guest speakers:  Dr. Jerry Barker, LouAnn & Junior Moreno, Susan Mericle and Kevin Vu.  AND, to our special guests…the Good Shepherd Episcopal School Kindergarten class of 2015-16 for singing “The Butterfly Song”.  Also, THANK YOU to Apolonia Davalos for sharing your beautiful voice as our opening blessing.
